The hotel's director wanted a restaurant that was modern and with a Scandinavian feel. At the same time, they placed great emphasis on the restaurant being cozy and intimate, so that guests would want to stay – even after they had eaten.

Modern, Scandinavian atmosphere through lighting

Hotel Scandic in Aalborg has undergone a major renovation of the hotel's interior. In this connection, they focused extra attention on the dining area, which was no longer contemporary or had the right mood and atmosphere.

The hotel's director, Finn Rosenqvist, wanted a restaurant that was modern and with a Scandinavian feel. At the same time, they placed great emphasis on the restaurant being cozy and intimate, so that guests would want to stay – even after they had eaten.

The hotel wanted to keep the current pendant lamps above the tables, which were to be the primary lighting during dinner. It was emphasized that the lighting should be dimmed to provide an intimate atmosphere. Once the primary lighting was in place, effect lighting was considered to emphasize the new and contemporary design that the restaurant had received. With RGB ribbons on the restaurant's tap beams, the desired effect was created. The light was placed under the beams, so that it shone down through a light curtain, which functioned as a room divider. With a colored ribbon, the hotel could adapt the colors to themes, company events or simply leave it in the hotel's own logo color.

In addition to the hotel's restaurant, Hotel Scandic also wanted to change their entrance area, which should appear more welcoming and modern.

Downlights were installed outside the hotel entrance, providing the desired light, so that it was clearly visible where the reception was located. When guests enter, they are greeted by a reception that has also been updated and made more modern. To also create focus on the area where guests should go upon arrival, the reception was highlighted with LED strips around the entire reception desk - a warm color that welcomes guests!
